Tess Bridgwater

TESS BRIDGWATER is an Award winning freelance Travel and Lifestyles Writer and Author based in Toronto. A longtime former member of SATW  her byline has appeared in Post Newspapers, The Toronto Star and other Metroland publications and Canadian, U.S. and British magazines and as a stringer for Canadian Press in London, England.

She has also managed Public Relations campaigns and produced inhouse Newsletters in both the public and private sector.

From 1992 – 1996 she published and edited THE BUDGET TRAVELLER, a travel newsletter for value conscious consumers, which had distribution through major tourism outlets in Ontario and the eastern U.S.

She wrote Travel features and  reviewed books for the Waterloo Region Record for nearly a decade.

Stories on File include – The Yukon, Canadian Rockies, and other iconic Canadian and US destinations, the Canary Islands – an idyllic holiday playground much favoured by Europeans, Cruising the Croatian coast

  • PRAGUE & KARLOVY VARY, Czech Republic. The historic town and famous spas have been magnificently restored and a visit will take you back in time to a gentler age.
  • EDINBURGH, Scotland, and the Scottish border country, wonderfully scenic and mystical, whose landscape and history were immortalized by the Victorian bard Sir Walter Scott, with poetry and novels like Ivanhoe.
  • LONDON, England, the ultimate destination;
    Stories on file, include a feature story on the lovely Jurassic Coast of Dorset, on the beautiful south coast of England, and other areas largely undiscovered by north Americans, but very familiar to the writer who grew up near Winchester, ancient capital of England.
  • Travels in North America have taken her North, South, East, and West, to the Yukon Territory in Northern Canada, cruising the Caribbean, New England, California and to the Islands of Hawaii .
